Laugh...
About five minutes ago, I was reading some news on a major
website (actually, I was pretending I was working) about getting
rich in real estate that got me pretty teed off, and I figured
I'd share with you my thoughts just in case you read the same
thing.
Now, without naming names and for a change being polite, I'll
give you the low down about the article and I'll try to refrain
from too much name calling...
But I'm not making any promises.
The title of the article was "Nothing Quick About Getting
Rich In Real Estate."
Basically the whole article was bashing two real estate gurus
you see on TV all the time, saying "buyers beware, because you
may not become a millionaire by going to a seminar."
Well, no freaking kidding! (again, I'll keep it clean.)
Geez, I would sincerely hope that people know that
it DOES take some effort to make money or to do anything else,
for that matter. I mean, it's hard enough when you're giving all
you've got to try and help people learn things that will carry
them through their lifetimes without having the skeptics try to
blast holes through everything that you do...then you've got to
deal with those sue-happy types...no matter what you do or say,
they'll twist it and cry fraud for no reason.
Hey, I've got an idea...
I should start a lawsuit against my high school, because I went
to school for all those years and didn't graduate with top
honors from Harvard.
Oh, I got a better one...how about I sue my gym, because I
wanted to bench press 450 pounds and only got up 380...it can't
be MY fault...right?
How about this one...everyone one of you who went to college for
business should sue your college unless you own and operate a
successful company.
I'll leave it at that...you get the point. Sorry for the
sarcasm, but what better way could I use to get my point across?
Anyway , I just wanted to make sure everyone on my list knows
that real estate DOES take work, and you can get wealthy doing
it if you're willing to put forth the effort.
Now back to that article for just a sec...
Well, maybe they should take a look at how much profit people
are pulling out of simple flip deals all over the country. I
don't know about you, but making five grand to fifty grand to
even 100K on a deal that took about five hours of work is pretty
darn good and quick to me.
